"Estacion 1883" Malbec, Trapiche
Argentina – 2019
14% ABV
Tasting Note: This Malbec has notes of ripe red fruits, cherries and violets with an underlying minerality and an elegant finish.
Food Matching: Try it with a home-made “chivito” sandwich: thinly sliced rib steak, thick slabs of pancetta, onions and ham.
Vineyard: These vines are grown in the LosArboles vineyards in theUco Valley. Organic practices are followed as they aim to preserve the natural properties of the grapes by eliminating the use of chemicals, herbicides and fungicides.
Vinification: The grapes are hand harvested bunch by bunch to ensure that only the best fruit is selected. All the fruit is destemmed followed by fermentation and maceration in small concrete tanks for 25 days at around 23-25ºC. Fermentation is followed by a gentle pneumatic pressing and a natural malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 15 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels being filtered and bottled.
