Bottle Information

Vineyard: The first winery in Patagonia to be certified as sustainable, Humberto Canale still operate today with the same values as when Guillermo Barzi's uncle planted the vines in 1914. Providing work and housing for local residents they pride themselves on to this day being an authentic family owned winery with real family values. The cooler climate of Pategonia allows fruit to ripen slowly and retain an acidity not normally associated with the new world and one that yields wines of superb complexity and elegance. These vineyards are in General Roca, Alto Valle del Rio Negro in Patagonia, one of the most southern regions in the world. The climate has a big temperature amplitude, whereby the nights are very cold and days intensely sunny. Another good influence for grape growing is the strong winds coming from the Antarctic, which have a cooling effect as well as keeping the risk of disease very low. The grapes are carefully hand picked for this wine before transportation to the winery in small crates.

Vinification: Hand picked grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and the wine is then aged in new French and American oak casks for 12 months. After bottling, the wine is aged for a further 6 months at the winery before release.
