Wine Open for Tasting This Weekend

Feb 7, 2020

At the Strong Water Co, we are firm believers in trying some great products before buying. Each weekend we'll have different wines, gins, or even whisky and rum open for tasting.

This weekend the 7th and 8th of February we've got open;

2018 Paranga White, Ktima Kir-Yianni

Tasting Note:

Intense but refined aromas of jasmine, white peach, and apricot, typical of a high-quality Malagousia, are pleasantly balanced by the freshness of a mountainous Roditis adding a crispy acidity and zest to the final blend. The lingering fruity aftertaste underpins the intense flavor and highlights a wine with an enchanting character.

Food Matching:

It can be enjoyed all year round, on its own as an aperitif, or paired to salads, fresh cheese, and fish.

The blurb:

Vineyard: Paranga, a.k.a. "The Shack" in Greek, takes its name from the state of the Kir-Yianni winery in Amyndeon, back in 1997 when Yiannis Boutaris bought it. The grapes are sourced primarily from contracted growers in the Amyndeon appellation in Northwestern Greece. The vineyards are sprawling at an altitude of 600m on poor sandy soils. The area is marked by cold winters and warm summers, but the four surrounding lakes create a unique mild mesoclimate. As a result, we get high fruit concentration and ripeness with exquisitely complex and rich aromas.

Come down and visit us at 78 High Street Banchory - with a wide choice of beers, wines, whisky, rums, gin and lots more! Open Saturday's 10am till 8pm.
