Introducing Gusbourne English Sparkling Wine
Introducing Gusbourne
We’ve recently introduced Gusbourne English Sparkling Wines to our collection, and thought you’d like to know a little more about them…
In 2004, when the first vines were planted at Gusbourne Estate, we had a clear vision and a single goal: to create English Sparkling Wines that would stand up alongside the very finest offerings from across the globe.
An uncompromising quest for perfection and a fastidious approach to detail is at the heart of everything we do. We ensure only the best grapes are used in our winemaking by growing and hand-picking them ourselves. We present an authentic reflection of a time and place in each of our bottles, by producing exclusively vintage wines that are unique to each growing season.
Gusbourne is the only three-time winner of the International Wine & Spirits Challenge English Wine Producer of the Year – having won the award in 2013, 2015 and 2017. We are the proud recipients of over 200 awards at international competition. We were awarded 23 gold medals and 8 trophies in 2019 alone.
Our tasting room, The Nest, is open all year round and we extend a warm invitation to anyone who wishes to enjoy the picturesque Kent countryside for a tour, tasting and to enjoy our award-winning English sparkling wines.
Brut Reserve is our most robust expression of who we are. Bright gold in colour, this classic blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier highlights red fruit aromas of cherry and strawberry, which then develop into attractive fresh pastry notes. With a bridge of citrus fruit, the palate is clean and fresh whilst giving tones of soft stone fruit and a long, refreshing finish.
A wine that typifies the linear purity of classic Blanc de Blancs. We select the finest lots of Chardonnay, exhibiting natural minerality, ensuring that the wine has both finesse and elegance, but also the requisite qualities for extended ageing. A bright golden colour with a delicate mousse, our Blanc de Blancs has classic Chardonnay aromas of green apple, citrus and mineral notes combined with buttered toast and Tarte Tatin richness from extended lees ageing.
Our Rosé is unique to each growing season, a direct reflection of English summer and the grapes used to craft it. Delicate pink in appearance, with soft summer berries and floral notes on the nose. The palate shows bright red fruits, driven by ripe strawberries, fresh cherries and redcurrants, with a crisp freshness and creamy, rounded texture on the finish.
