The whisky aged in the three Pedro Ximénez hogsheads (#5896, #5897, and #5898) was distilled on 7 June 1989 and contributed flavours of poached plum, muscovado sugar, and heather honey. The whisky aged in the two virgin oak casks (barrels #2152 and #2153) was distilled on 3 July 1989 and it added more heather honey and elements of cloves, treacle, nutmeg, and pomegranate. The whisky aged in the oloroso puncheon (cask #5587) was distilled on 7 July 1989 and brought notes of cinnamon, dried red berries, dark chocolate, and nutmeg.
