It was Mr Luxardo's wife; Maria Canevari who created the original Luxardo Marachino liqueur while Mr Luxardo was away doing work with the Government. He's lucky he married her, as nearly 200 years later, the family is still making this liqueur which is brilliant in cooking.

Uses of kirsch

For many years I have used kirsch to make a Cordon bleu recipe of pineapple with kirsch, a fresh pineapple with a sugar syrup and added kirsch, it is excellent for imported pineapple which is not usually sweet when imported to this country. Thanks for the delivery, the bottle was exceptionally carefully wrapped and transported.
