Distilled on 27/12/2013 and bottled on 05/05/2026, this limited edition Islay single malt was matured for 12 years in two refill bourbon barrels, with only 384 bottles released worldwide.

Unlike the classic peated style associated with Caol Ila, this bottling showcases the distillery’s elegant and spirit-driven character completely without peat smoke.

Unpeated Caol Ila bottlings are increasingly rare and highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts. Inspired by the famous old Diageo Special Releases, Little Brown Dog chose to mature this whisky exclusively in refill bourbon barrels rather than overpowering the spirit with heavy sherry influence.

The Story Behind the Label

Little Brown Dog’s label artwork often carries hidden references and this release is no different. The concept centres around the absence of “peat” or “Pete”.

Peter Green, one of the founding members of Fleetwood Mac, left the band before the release of the album Kiln House. No, Pete, but there’s still a kiln — a wonderfully obscure and fitting reference for an unpeated Caol Ila.

The artwork uses earthy greens, reds and cream tones with hand-drawn barley illustrations to reflect the whisky’s natural, delicate and unpeated style.
