Tasting Notes

Nose: Expressive aromas of ripe blackberries, blueberries and dark plums, complemented by mocha, fig, sweet spice and subtle balsamic notes.

Palate: Generous and full-bodied, displaying concentrated bramble and plum flavours, beautifully integrated oak, fine tannins and refreshing acidity.

Finish: Long, elegant and complex, with lingering dark fruit, spice and delicate oak.

Winemaking & Ageing

The grapes are sourced from carefully selected vineyard parcels around Quel, including El Poeta, La Bartola and Hoyo Judio, at altitudes exceeding 600 metres. Many vines are old bush vines grown without artificial irrigation.

Following meticulous grape selection and fermentation, the wine matures for 18 months in new oak barrels (80% French and 20% American), followed by six months in large French oak foudres. This careful ageing creates depth and complexity while preserving the wine's vibrant fruit character.

Food Pairing

Perfect alongside grilled ribeye steak, roast lamb, slow-cooked beef, venison or mature hard cheeses. Its rich fruit and structured tannins make it an excellent choice for special occasions and hearty meals.
