Burnadjacent 1989 36 Year Old – Little Brown Dog Spirits

An exceptional 36-Year-Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky from Little Brown Dog Spirits, distilled in 1989 and matured for more than three and a half decades in a refill hogshead.

Burnadjacent is LBD's playful name for a parcel of teaspooned Balvenie, traditionally known in the trade as Burnside.

Distilled on 15th November 1989 and bottled on 27th July 2026 at 47.6% ABV, just 321 bottles were produced.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Kiwi, mandarin and really old book shop.

Palate: Peach iced tea and fresh mango with lime.

Finish: Pecan pie, sea salt and really good olive oil.

36 Years of Maturation

This is the sort of old malt that simply cannot be rushed. More than 30 years of maturation has allowed the whisky to develop the tropical fruit character that makes genuinely old Scotch so compelling.

Long ageing in a refill hogshead has given the spirit time to evolve without allowing the oak to dominate, resulting in a mature whisky packed with fruit and complexity.
