Little Brown Dog Spirits' Aberdeenshire Single Malt has quickly established itself as a favourite among whisky drinkers, and now there's a limited cask-strength edition for those looking for something with a little more oomph.

Produced using whisky from Glen Garioch Distillery, this 12-year-old single malt Scotch whisky has been bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.4% ABV.

The batch brings together refill Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry puncheons, delivering a richer, more sherried character than the regular expression. Although labelled as a 12-year-old, Little Brown Dog explains that many of the casks used are considerably older.

Only 500 individually hand-numbered bottles have been released, complete with the distinctive black notebook-style label. There are currently no plans to introduce a permanent cask-strength expression, making this a particularly interesting release for collectors and lovers of local Aberdeenshire whisky.
